One of the world’s greatest wildlife experiences can be found in the legendary game parks of Kenya. We are offering two optional safari experiences following the cruise, both offering the possibility of close up viewing of elephant, giraffe, hippo, lion, cheetah, buffalo and much more. Both safaris spend six nights in wildlife parks and one night in Mombasa before the charter flight back to Switzerland.

Drive by minivan to Amboseli National Park for three nights in a park lodge. Game drives explore marshlands fed by the snows of Mt. Kilimanjaro and broad acacia plains. Also visit the camp of biologist Cynthia Moss, whose research on elephants has been documented by the BBC and WNET/Nature.

Next spend three nights at a lodge in Tsavo National Park, one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. The vast savanna and dry rocky hills contrast with the lush valley of the Galana River. Some of our best wildlife sightings will be along the river where elephant and buffalo wallow, antelope come to drink and predators lurk in the shadows.

Kilimanjaro Overland Expedition -- $1095 per person, based on double occupancy, including all meals and game drives.

Fly to Nairobi and drive up the slopes of the Aberdares to overnight at the Ark, an unique lodge built over a waterhole frequented by many animals. Then descend into the Rift Valley for two nights on Lake Nakuru where the water shimmers pink with thousands of flamingos. Continue to the Maasai Mara Reserve for three nights in our exclusive, private tent camp.

Each couple has a private tent with real beds and linens, and an adjacent bathroom including a hot bucket shower. Dinner is served by candlelight and the gracious and attentive camp staff makes this an outdoor luxury experience. Each evening, the day’s adventures are discussed over iced drinks around a bonfire. For this off-the-beaten-path safari we use charter aircraft and comfortable four-wheel drive Landcruisers with game-viewing roof hatches and a window seat for every traveler. It is still possible to experience the Africa of yesteryear.

Hemingway Tented Safari -- $2795 per person, based on double occupancy, including all meals, flights and game drives.

Accommodations are limited.  Don't delay.
