Total Solar Eclipse

1998 Feb 26 Total Solar Eclipse

The 1998 event was the last total solar eclipse in North America until the year 2017. This winter-time Caribbean eclipse provided a wonderful opportunity to combine a great vacation with a chance to see the spectacular sight of the Sun's corona. The path of totality crossed portions of the Galapagos Islands, Colombia, Panama, Venezuela, and several Caribbean islands (Aruba, Curacao, Guadeloupe, Antigua, and Montserrat). Cruise ships proved to be a luxurious way to view the eclipse. Clear skies were experienced along most of the eclipse track.
