1997 Sept 16 -- Total Lunar Eclipse

During the evening of Tuesday, September 16, 1997, observers in Australia, Asia, Europe, and Africa will experience a total lunar eclipse. The total phase, which begins at 6:15 pm (GMT), will last for approximately 1 hour and 2 minutes, and will not be visible from the Western Hemisphere.
